Given the current debacle of the Republican nomination for someone to stand toe to toe against Obama, this book is a timely delightful tale of 'what-ifs' of having the 27th US president doing a Rip Van Wrinkle and waking up in the present and contemplating old school politics in new clothes.
It was always going to be a fantasy but it plays up on the elements of people hankering for the 'olden days' where politics were a lot simpler (and tax rates impossibly low). There are clever post-modern nods to 'Taft parties' and the plot moves swiftly along with emails/social media sound bites.
A breezy/delightful read with much food for thought under 300 pages.
