A sprawling novel filled with characters and issues and malaria and cancer and lashings of science and life/death and sex. A revelation within the confines of family drama and quite unlike anything I have read before. But to be fair, I have read previous books by James Meek and it is always a revelation (I repeated myself, didn't I?)
