The plot is flawed, just as the main character is. But let's face it, when was the last time a non-white/non-latino/non-european protagonist graced the pages of a book/thriller (and no, McCall Smith's verbal pulp fiction doesn't count here)? And for that, it is refreshingly new and from the way the author ended his novel, there might be more to come.
